Mr. A.J. Amatuzio, founder, President and
CEO of
AMSOIL
states that he often hears other companies ad slogans stating that their
products are the best. They are not. Mobil 1 has run the tag line for their
advertising, "nothing outperforms Mobil 1".
A.J. Amatuzio states that he knows a company that does make products that
outperform Mobil 1. "And you know which company that is. Mobil makes a very
good oil,
but I am here to tell you that that it does not outperform
AMSOIL
Synthetic Motor Oils. They can come out with
advertising buzz words to market their oils, but in the final analysis, buzz
words don't add one thing to their products performance.
The only reason that
AMSOIL
has continued to grow and prosper competing with large corporations like Mobil
is that AMSOIL
products have consistently performed better."
AMSOIL
Inc.,
President and CEO A.J. Amatuzio,
puts it best, "our company makes the best lubricants
and synthetics in the world, period, and challenges
anyone or any company to prove us wrong! That won't
happen because our competitors know it's true".
Mobil will not recommend or guarantee
25,000 mile/1-year drain intervals like
AMSOIL
5W-30, 10W-30 or 10W-40 or 35,000 mile/1-year drain
intervals like
AMSOIL
0W-30 Severe Service Synthetic does and that is a
fact. No-where on the Mobil bottle does it state
25,000 miles/1-year or 35,000 miles/1-year.
Take a look at the
AMSOIL
vs. Mobil 1 Supersyn test, just below. These are independent certified
lab test results performed by an ASTM (American Society of Test Materials)
accredited test laboratory. Now, after reading these test results do you still
believe Mobil's tag line "nothing outperforms Mobil 1"? The data certainly
doesn't show that, and we can also guarantee you that if this data is not 100%
accurate that Mobil would certainly be contacting us.

ExxonMobil Joins
AMSOIL in the
Extended Oil Drain Push
For the first time
since
AMSOIL
INC. introduced the concept of "extended
drain" oil 33 years ago, another major brand of oil
has entered the extended drain arena, a further push
toward changing the length of oil drain intervals
forever. Last week ExxonMobil introduced its new 15,000
mile oil. AMSOIL
INC. of Superior, Wisconsin, globally recognized as the
first fully synthetic oil to meet American Petroleum
Institute service requirements, has been designing and
manufacturing the extended oil change motor oil since
1972. From that time to the present
AMSOIL
has touted a 25,000 mile or one year oil change
interval. ExxonMobils introduction of this new
extended drain oil further validates what
AMSOIL
has been doing for more than 34 years.
AMSOIL
has been there and done that and stays ahead of the
competition with cutting edge technology. We now have
some new test comparisons for you:

AMSOIL
Stands Apart from the Competition
AMSOIL
has always formulated its products to be the
absolute best, continually researching ways
to make its already outstanding products
even better. Other oil companies, however,
are beholden to shareholders, and one could
speculate that their incentive is to
maximize profit. They formulate oils down to
a price, rather than formulating them to be
the best they can be. Then, they price their
products to maximize profits. In addition,
AMSOIL
has 33 years of experience blending premium
extended drain synthetic oils. That's 33
years worth of proven performance in the
field.
A close look
at ExxonMobil's new long drain motor oil
line reveals that two are petroleum based,
one is a synthetic blend and only one, Mobil
1 Extended Performance, is a full synthetic.
The petroleum based products are recommended
for 5000 mile drains, the synthetic blend
for 7500 mile drains and Extended
Performance for 15,000 mile drains. However,
a look at the fine print reveals that
ExxonMobil is still recommending drivers
follow the oil drain recommendations listed
in their owners manuals during the warranty
period. AMSOIL
synthetic motor oils are recommended for
25,000 mile or one year drain intervals in
both new and older vehicles. The
AMSOIL
warranty stands behind this
recommendation.

If you are
uncomfortable with extended drains you can still
change at normal intervals and needn't have fear if
inconveniences cause you to go beyond your normal
oil change interval. Are you concerned about your
new car warranty? Don't be,
AMSOIL
will not void your new car
warranty. Read why here:

Indy car racing legend
Bobby Unser
attended the recent
AMSOIL
30th anniversary
convention and stated that he has used
AMSOIL
motor oils in all his vehicles for many years, including
all his race cars. In fact, he said all of today's high
level racers use synthetic motor oils because the
engines simply demand the higher quality of synthetics.
Bobby got up on stage and told about how
his race car differentials could not survive more than
one race up Pikes Peak without needing to be rebuilt,
until he started using AMSOIL.
Then his differentials went all race season without
needing to be rebuilt. This experience in Bobby's early
years of racing began his long relationship with
AMSOIL
in all his race cars. Bobby went on to say that...
"AMSOIL
is the Best Lubricant made, the Standard to which all
others are judged," Bobby Unser 3-time Indy 500
Winner, 35 overall Indy Car wins, & 13-time Pikes Peak
Hill Climb Winner.
NOACK VOLATILITY (ASTM D-5800):
The NOACK
Volatility Test determines the evaporation loss of
lubricants in high temperature service.
The
more motor oils vaporize, the thicker and heavier
they become, contributing to poor circulation,
reduced fuel economy, increased oil consumption and
excessive wear and emissions. A maximum of 15
percent evaporation loss is allowable to meet API SL
and ILSAC GF-3 specifications.
The low volatility of AMSOIL
Synthetic 10W-30 Motor Oil allows it to maintain its
superior protective and performance qualities
throughout extended drain intervals, even when faced
with severe operating temperatures. Motorists get
minimum oil consumption and maximum fuel efficiency.

You might be thinking,

AMSOIL
Proven Best: The History Behind, "The First
In Synthetics"
Albert J. Amatuzio, President and CEO of
AMSOIL
Inc., recently announced that the phrase "First in Synthetics" is now
part of the
AMSOIL
registered trademark. No other oil company in the world can claim to be
first.
Mr. Amatuzio told an interesting story as to how this came about.
AMSOIL
applied to have this statement registered and was told that they must prove to
the trademark officials, by documentation, that AMSOIL
Synthetic Oil was the first, historically. However, they also said that by
claiming to be first, we were insinuating we were the best (or #1/first) from a
quality or performance standpoint.
So AMSOIL
had to convince them that they had the best product to also claim to be first.
AMSOIL
proceeded to present comparison documentation and test results backing up the
claim that AMSOIL
was also the best. Yes! The trademark officials accepted the documentation to
allow
AMSOIL
to use "first" in their trademark.
But the process was not through. The procedure now required the
government to notify all other oil manufacturers that would be impacted by the
decision, so they would have input before this decision would be official. They
were notified in writing and given 90 days to object, comment or respond.
The 90 days elapsed without a peep!
AMSOIL
not only convinced the trademark office that
AMSOIL
Synthetic Oil was the first historically, but also convinced them that
AMSOIL
is the first in quality, and no other competitor objected!
A.J. Amatuzio
started
AMSOIL
INC. with the express purpose of making motor oils
that were of such high quality, they could totally
outperform the oils of the day. The first oil
AMSOIL
made extended drain intervals to 25,000 miles
or one year. The technology was available over
thirty three years ago. The other oil companies were
recommending 2,000 to 3,000 mile drains back then.
They haven?t come that far in 33 years, have they?
Today, AMSOIL
has 25,000 mile/1-year oil, 35,000 mile/1-year oil
or no oil changes with by-pass filtration and oil
analysis testing. The other oil companies do not
have anything that even comes close to what
AMSOIL
offers.
AMSOIL
is specially engineered to last
longer in service and perform better
than any product on the market.
AMSOIL's
published tests and over thirty
three years of satisfied customers prove
it.
AMSOIL
is proven to be the best!
AMSOIL
was, and still is, the "First in
Synthetics". All other synthetic
motor oils were Johnny-come-latelies.
This is a fact that not a single
other oil company will dispute.
In fact up until about 10-15 years
ago many of these manufacturers
never even had a synthetic (except
Mobil1). They were too busy trying
to debunk the benefits of synthetics
to the average consumer! Now,
technology, competition and consumer
demand has forced every major oil
manufacturer to have a synthetic,
and they are now also claiming the
same benefits that at one time they
were trying to debunk, but yet not a
single one even comes close to
offering the protection and
performance that
AMSOIL
does. In
fact, the Castrol Syntec isn't even
a 100% pure Group 4 synthetic.
That's right...read on........
CASTROL AND MOBIL
GO TO COURT TO BATTLE IT OUT:
Recently, Mobil
accused Castrol of reformulating its
synthetic by substituting other
basestocks in place of its synthetic
polyaphaolefins (PAO's). Castrol
Syntec is a hydrocracked oil. That's
right, Castrol has replaced the PAO
synthetic base stock with
hydroisomerized petroleum base
stock. Hydrocracking, as it's
called, is the highest level of
petroleum refining. Castrol isn't
even a true synthetic yet Castrol
ended up winning the battle when the
National Advertising Division of the
Council of Better Business Bureaus
ruled that Castrol could still
market its oil as "synthetic"
despite their new formulation.
Basically, they expanded the
definition of synthetics to include
Group III hydroprocessed petroleum
oil. This high profile case took
place because synthetics are
recognized as the market's best hope
for growth. Synthetic oil sales have
outpaced petroleum oil sales by a
wide margin and the gap continues to
widen every year. Consumers are
getting smarter and demand the best
for their vehicles! (Read the full
story on the Castrol debacle in our
Must Read Article-Facts Section:
Castrol vs. Mobil: Synthetic Oil
Gets All New Semantics).
Additionally, just as soon as
Castrol won this battle, several
other major oil companies jumped in
and came up with hydroprocessed
motor oils of their own and labeled
these products to be "100%
synthetic", when they still are
primarly Group III hydroprocessed
petroleum oils!
AMSOIL
will not void your new car warranty.
AMSOIL
also goes a step further to protect you with
the
AMSOIL Limited Warranty.
Vehicle manufacturers recommend using motor oils
meeting certain grades and American Petroleum
Institute service requirements. Whether the motor
oil is petroleum based or synthetic will not affect
warranty coverage. The manufacturer is required to
cover all equipment failures it would normally cover
as long as the oil meets the requirements and was
not the cause of the failure.
AMSOIL
exceeds these requirements and has never been deemed
the cause of an engines failure. Even so,
AMSOIL
has its own limited warranty
protecting you even further. In addition,
the federally mandated Magnuson-Moss act states that
a manufacturer may not require the use of a specific
brand of aftermarket product unless it is provided
free of charge. Read why here:
Warranty Laws You Need To Know!
Could your new
vehicle warranty be voided if you don't change your
oil according to the manufacturers recommended
change intervals, such as when using
AMSOIL?
Absolutely not.
AMSOIL
synthetic motor oils are guaranteed to run 25,000
miles to 35,000 miles (Series 2000 Severe Service
0W-30 oil) or one year in mechanically sound
engines, providing, of course the oil is kept free
of contaminants by changing the oil filter according
to the manufacturer's recommendation or when using
an AMSOIL
Super Duty oil filter changing the filter at 6
months or 12,500 miles (for gasoline engines),
or when you use the new
AMSOIL
EaO Oil Filter at 25,000 miles or 1-year, whichever comes first. If using the
AMSOIL
Dual-Remote or Dual-Gard By-Pass Filtration unit
then the oil and By-Pass filter is changed as
indicated by oil analysis testing.
AMSOIL
coined the phrase "extended drain interval" and it
has been validated by over 30 years of industry
testing and tens of thousands of motorists and
millions of over-the-road miles.
A U.S. District
Court judge in Philadelphia has awarded a $32
million class action settlement to American owners
of Mercedes-Benz vehicles due to the company's
failure to specify the use of synthetic motor oils
with its Flexible Service System (FSS).
Many motorists who have used
conventional oils with the system have experienced
premature engine wear problems. The settlement
requires Mercedes-Benz to cover repairs estimated at
$20 million and supply 350,000 owners and lessees
with vouchers for free synthetic oil changes.
The Mercedes-Benz Flexible Service System was
included on nearly all Mercedes-Benz models sold in the U.S. from 1998 to 2001.
It utilizes an electronic device that monitors engine oil life by measuring
factors such as engine temperature, oil level, vehicle speed, engine speed,
distance driven and time since last service. Beginning with a 10,000-mile
minimum drain interval, the system adjusts the interval upward as it detects
favorable engine and driving conditions.
Through the Flexible Service System, motorists
extend their drain intervals to an average of 12,000 miles, with some reaching
as high as 20,000 miles. The problem is that some owners manuals and
promotional materials advised consumers to use conventional motor oils, which
failed to maintain protection or performance throughout the extended drain
intervals.
"The company's intentions to save its
customers money and to protect the environment are certainly commendable",
said attorney Kenneth Jacobsen. "But it didn't work because conventional oils
just don't stand up to those intervals".
